At Egg Trade Buitenhuis, one clear goal was central: achieving maximum self-consumption of the generated solar energy and guaranteeing uninterrupted business operations for Buitenhuis. As an installation partner, HEC Energy designed and delivered an extremely reliable, technically advanced emergency power and storage solution for this purpose.
To meet these high requirements, we installed two advanced battery systems. We configured the installation so that it functions completely seamlessly as a back-up in the event of a grid outage. Does the grid power go down? Then the batteries immediately take over the entire power supply, without even a flicker of light being noticeable. This guarantees a disruption-free production process.
For absolute operational security, the system is coupled to a generator. Should the grid outage last for an extended period and the batteries run nearly empty, the generator starts automatically to take over the energy supply. With this hybrid configuration, you offer your customer the ultimate guarantee of continuity and maximum independence.
The electricity grid in the region already suffered from grid congestion, which made feeding back large amounts of solar energy problematic. In addition, the system had to withstand the changing weather conditions in the open field and comply with strict municipal sustainability requirements.
By combining 3 MW of hybrid inverters with a HEC energy storage system, the generated energy is intelligently managed. In the event of overproduction, the system stores energy, which is then supplied to the grid at peak times. The result is a stable energy supply that prevents grid congestion and saves the municipality hundreds of thousands of euros every year.
